corespondent
One of two or more parties against whom a lawsuit is commenced. A person named with others who must answer claims alleged in a bill, petition, or libel (See libel and slander) in a judicial proceeding.
An individual who is accused of adultery with another's spouse being sued for divorce on that ground and who thereby becomes a defendant in the action.
